I’m a blogger whose horse has already been let out of the barn, but I can’t stop writing even though I know better.
I’m partner to a ridiculously funny, passionate, generous woman, known here as Baby Mama, who thinks about things in a different way than anyone else I’ve ever known. We were 23 and 24 when we met, which strikes me as ridiculous now, more than 7 years later. But we have become grown-ups together and the adventure has been lovely and difficult and worth every minute.
I’m a parent to a son, known here as Bubba, born in the US in 2006 and placed with me and my partner a few days later. We have an open adoption, and a transracial adoption. Again: lovely and difficult and worth every minute.
We’re very untraditional on paper, but mostly we’re pretty boring, at least in our own little corner of the world.
That’s just fine by us.
